Evening social work program

If you enjoy working with people, helping others have more successful lives, and striving to improve the communities in which we live, social work may be the career choice for you. Special evening courses are being offered at Bluffton to address the needs of professionals with a two year degree and those with a bachelor's degree who desire a new career path.

  • Attend classes one evening per week from 5:30 10:30 p.m.
  • Complete your bachelor s degree in as little as three years

Bluffton's social work program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1982. Our curriculum is based on a competency model that ensures the students have the necessary knowledge and skills by the time they complete their internship in their senior year. Area agencies recognize that we have been preparing competent social workers for the region for many years.


Be prepared to help people of all ages.

Social workers are employed in most human services settings, including:

Services to families and children
Juvenile services
Mental health services
Substance abuse programs

Admission Requirements

Most of your classes will be in Centennial Hall.
  • At least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of transferable college credit
  • Successful completion of: Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Social Work and Introduction to Psychology
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0
